$50 of awesomeness: Our new Craftsman LT1000 backyard tractor
We bought this tractor last Saturday; The guy was vauge on the phone, just said a Craftsman with a bad trans and a plow and he wanted . We figured it was probably some old piece, but were pleasantly surprised when we got there and found it to be newer and in great shape (it's just dusty) having been always garaged. Then when we discovered the trasmission was FINE we declared it of awesomeness. I can't believe this has happened twice! The only thing thats really wrong with it is the axle is twisted slightly at the front left wheel, but we can probably bend it back, it's just flimsy sheetmetal. EDIT: We've replaced this axle with a cast-iron one from another Craftsman. No more axle bending here!

With a ,500 loan borrowed against Henry's life insurance policy and another ,500 raised by selling shares of stock to a family member, the four men got to work to develop the first American-made rotary tiller. It took the Ariens family many years of experimentation, education and perseverance before rotary tilling became accepted as a proven in the US. In 1958 they came out with their first Riding Mower and things went from there adding in Snow Thro'ers and Zero Turn Mowers.The last three years have come up with a number of new developments

And best of all they are about to come out with a ride on electric mower with as much power as a conventional petrol mower, with only half the noise. Itcan be charged in 16 hours which will run the mower for 1.5 hours. This is the first electric ride on mower on the market and plans to be sold for ,299 at Home Depot stores and Ariens dealerships beginning in May 2009. Ariens' market research showed that consumers wanted an all-electric riding mower, for environmental reasons, and they also wanted a mower that was quieter and produced less vibration, said Dan Ariens, company president.
"Those consumers are everywhere. I don't think that regulations have to drive the choices that people make," he said.
All in all Ariens is a great old company that is looking towards the future and will serve you well.

David Bradley tractor sickle dozer agriculturalist deejay 917.57561
This is a David Bradley tractor and attachments I picked up about a year ago. There was also a David Bradley 1 bottom plow but the hitch was shortened to use on a brinly hitch garden tractor so I sold that. From what I found online this was made about 51-53. It originally had a Continental AU8 engine. Engine was missing however. Tires look good from a distance but do have poor sidewalls. The tires are so hard though they might not need air, lol. Cultivator is bent so I'll probably have to take it apart to straighten it, broken bolts in my future. Sickle and disk both turn where they are supposed to, just need greasing. Might power it with a 2.5 or 3HP briggs aluminum block engine if I can't find a Continental.
